I was just reading Donnas thread which brought up some of my favourite words. Like nong. Nong is probably the best - it has just the right amount of put-down and there is no come back.

My other favourite is nincompoop.

Idjit and I had another one but it is considered obscene by some.

I hate the word numpty.  It's a common insult on the ebay help boards by the (cough) helpers.

galah is good. it doesn't really offend people that much.
