Zombies : A Living History "documentary discussion"

This is a very interesting watch, it explores the possibility of some deseases or plauges that can almost give the apperance of what you might only see in a corney fictional movie. Talks about the history of our fear of the dead and how it came about in certain cultures. I thought it would make for a good discussion.

Seems there's no discussion to be had.

That clip goes for 1 1/2 hours

That wasn't so much meant as a clip, but rather a full documentary, and they uasally are about the length of a movie. I've posted at least a few of these "documentary discussions" and was going to make it a once a week thing, but the only one that recieved many replies was the first "end of America" and much of those replies were bickering amoung members, not what I intended for this weekly segment.

Maybe this wasn't the best choice in topic for an Alstrailain based board, but I do know from searching pictures on the the internet that at one time a "zombie walk" took place in Alstralia, though I think they called it a "zombie Lurch" or something. I still have some of those pictures saved on my computer. One of the better walks I've seen pictures from on that picture site.

Far as the documentary here, I thought it was interesting how they explore the possibilitys of this happening for real through some desease like preons, or mad cow. Theres alot of seemingly handicap people around here that kinda have the walk, Many wouldn't notice, but they walk with a cane and seem to move slow and erratic.

So, Joanie..........what do you think?  Are zombies slow moving brain dead creatures, easily avoided, or are they quick-moving brain dead creatures, with an enhanced sense of smell?

I think the weapon of choice for zombie elimination is the Casull 454, with the 240 grain bullet........splat those zombie heads like a melon.  Down side is that you've only got five shots with the revolver.

I don't know, it would just about have to be theroy, but I have the theroy that in a world where they are real, they would likely be both kinds, and more. The "trioxn" zombie who eats brains, from the series of movies "Return of the living dead" parts 1, 2, and 3, you could cut them into pieces and the pieces would still keep coming, and in the last two, parts 4 and 5, a shot to the head destroying the brain would more or less kill them.

The the viral or virus infected ones, like in the movie "the dead next door" where the corpse is just a host to the virus who uses the host to keep it's funtion going. If the zombie went unfed, it would die off.

Then theres the movie "the dead hate the living" where some window or doorway to an alternate universe changes the rules about life and death.

I know it seems like I'm really into this, but not so much as I used to be. I've been into Star trek just the same, and some other things.

Well, I suppose I could suggest we check your heartbeat and pulse, just to be sure. lol ...

In zombies anomious, AKA, last rights of the dead, it was determined that the mortally challenged did in fact have a heartbeat, but it was almost undetectable. Something like one heartbeat every hour or so. That is my second favorate movie next to return of the living dead, they actually had a support group for the mortally chalenged as they were being discrimanated against by the living.

Fearless undead Machines- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Rw_Ybs87OA

The dreaded dark no place to hide from the reaching hands

The monster slow yet menicing, seeking out a soul

You close your eyes but still you see the gripping reality

you tell yourself this isn't so, but yet, it's real its true

rahhhahhall,, rahhhahhall,, rahhhahhall,, aahhhhahhall,,

Run, we must run, try to get away,

to shelter somewhere anywhere

from corpses that await
