I have been getting emails about a problem with my Amazon account or payments for several weeks.
I just ignore and delete as I have never bought anything, much less had an account with them.

I hate Amazon, with a deep and abiding passion...
I've tried to buy stuff on Amazon many times, and they simply won't let me, based on me living in Australia. Want to buy a DVD from the UK, US, or Europe? "Not available to your location". Want to buy an mp3? "Not available to your location".
I have Amazon Prime, which I got mainly to watch the series "Bosch". Latest season started about two months ago - guess what? "Not available to your location".

Suggest check out " on-shipping " services where a company sets up a proxy postal address for you , ( which is their business address with a unique for customer address suffix number ) which you quote as your delivery address and the company will on-ship , as in send , the package to you
I have a US on-shipping address for some US purchases including ebay purchases which quote over the top international shipping costs ( with free or almost free US delivered shipping cost) or do not send international.
Last item delivered reduced the purchase cost by AU$80 for a $18 item (excl shipping)

To add insult to injury when you first look at an item on Amazon it gives you the cost in AU currency and the postage costs. It's only when you go to buy it that you get told it's not available. When you look on Amazon AU for the same item, if it IS available, don't be surprised to see it double or triple (or worse) the US cost.
A friend sent me an Amazon Gift card which I could only use on Amazon AU (my friend was not in Oz). It took me a while to find something to buy with it which turned out to be some CDs. The packaging was not great and while the discs survived the plastic cases didn't fare so well. On Amazon US you can comment on the product and the shipping. On the AU version you can only rate the product.
Amazon is a complete ripoff IMO.

If the call is about your Prime Amazon account, and a fee of $39 will be deducted from your bank account, then it is the scam call that I get all the time.
