Hi folks. I've just bought a box of coloured pencils, and will be working on my first drawing soon. I'll post the completed work here. Would love people to post their art here for us to see. Doesn't matter what type of art - drawing, painting, photos/photo manipulation, cake decorating, quilting, poetry, origami, whatever. Let's have some fun and show our creativity. ๐

I think your picture is seriously good so far, Moonlight. Is that all freehand?
For me to get anything like that I would have to trace it. I am a lousy drawer.

Or should that be drawerer?
I am neither a draw in a cabinet, nor can I draw artistically.

Looking forward to seeing your hairclips finished katy, so far, they look lovely.
and also can't wait to see your picture finished moonlight. You've done a great job with the drawing...do you think you've improved since your first effort? I do, and can't wait to see what you're producing in ayears time.
I hope whatever wasn't working regarding me posting pics comes right before our first "showing" ! I wanted to start on my flower today but I didn't have time as my students were having a bad day !! It happens to everyone..nothing seems to look right and nothing you do seems to fix it but all was okay in the end. One person brought their son along (school hols here) and he had a ball. He was so enthusiastic and did three drawings...which turned out really good. So all in all, I enjoyed the day but will now have to start my painting tomorrow.
Who else is joining in? I can't remember now LOL but hope anyone just reading will have a go too.
Monsters, you could make a pressed flower if you think you can't draw....but I think you could draw one. Nothing has to be perfect ya know ! It can be an abstract flower.

Soul, I'm going to have a go at painting one, I am too lazy/impatient to draw something first and then paint it in.
But I promised myself that I have to finish all my selling listings before I am allowed to start painting.
When is the deadline?

sorry, got busy feeding the cats !.....and you know they never wait for anything.
Good to see you're going to join in monsters. I think the date is the 15th, so plenty of time yet.

Yep, all freehand. The only time I used something else other than just a pencil was when I used a ruler to draw the grid below to help me with proportions. That never felt right, and I never felt any sense of accomplishment from it. So that was the first and last time I'll ever not use just a pencil to draw.
soul - yes, I do think that my drawing skills have improved since my first attempt.
pepe - the 15th is not set in stone - "deadline" makes it sound so final. You can show us your work whenever you are finished. This applies particularly to the people who came onboard with this exercise only recently and need more time. Better to see works from more people rather than from less people because of a deadline.
monsters - glad that you have come onboard. The good painters don't even need to draw first before painting, so you might find that it works better for you this way. I hope to be able to eventually just paint without needing to draw.
Thanks for all the nice comments. ๐

i think you are being a bit hard on yourself moonlight - that pic was a huge accomplishment even with gridlines.

I've got a flower one. It's not good lol. I thought it was pretty enough for me to hang in the bathroom even though I know that artistically it's bad so I might show that. On the 15th?
