art thread?

Hi folks. I've just bought a box of coloured pencils, and will be working on my first drawing soon. I'll post the completed work here. Would love people to post their art here for us to see. Doesn't matter what type of art - drawing, painting, photos/photo manipulation, cake decorating, quilting, poetry, origami, whatever. Let's have some fun and show our creativity. 🙂

How are all the art people ?  Busy being creative ?

I've finished a pastel for a friends birthday...a quirky version of the star sign scorpio, a bird in coloured pencils,  some flowers in ink and I've just sketched some flowers which I'm going to paint with watercolour paints.

I am hopeless using watercolours, so I decided the only way to improve is to keep trying and trying........lol

I'll take some pics and post them later today......even the watercolour.  I've never ever been happy with  the results so far but I think if I'm patient and keep a soft touch I MAY improve !

Would love to see some pics of others work......any christmas crafts being done ?

Well, I won't be finishing the watercolour today.  Only done a couple of washes so far and started being too heavy handed already  (the flower at the top) Grr! Oh well, I will keep going on it tomorrow.

Coloued pencils... I think it's a bit sloppy, could do a bit more to it and it may be okay...just !

I don't know what you mean by muddied.  It looks lovely to me.  They are all good.

There used to be another member here (actually on member to member I think) that was an artist and she sold her art on ebay.  Usually prints or copies of her work.  Her name was artteanne..

I bought a copy of a painting of a lady on the beach that kind of reminds me of your Scorpio one.  Except your lady is very slim and mine is quite the opposite but beautiful.

I would like to show it but I'm really not sure whether that would be some sort of copyright infringement.  In the meantime, I havn't attempted anything else.  I think I am much better at appreciating others work.

Thanks joono, I think it would be hard selling on here, so many wonderful artists for people to choose from.

I hope when you have time, you do some art, I really liked your flowers and bear.  It can be hard to find the time though.

I couldn't quite understand why it was Scorpio.  Is it because of her hair?  Very clever

It's a bit quirky.....not a true scorpio type of thing but will suit her.

and when I said the flower is muddied I mean I was too impatient to wait for the wash to dry so the petal next to it bled into it.  There isn't anything to show individual petals...I might be able to fix it......tomorrow lol
