art thread?

Hi folks. I've just bought a box of coloured pencils, and will be working on my first drawing soon. I'll post the completed work here. Would love people to post their art here for us to see. Doesn't matter what type of art - drawing, painting, photos/photo manipulation, cake decorating, quilting, poetry, origami, whatever. Let's have some fun and show our creativity. ๐Ÿ™‚

If anyone can master watercolours, it would be you, soul. ๐Ÿ™‚

Inktense are basically watercolour pencils, right?

To answer your question, I have lost interest in using charcoal pencils for now. Haven't even bought any yet, but I will see if Red Dot has them next time I drop in. Right now I am just focussing on acrylics and pencil drawings. Also, Aldi won't be in WA for at least another 2 years, so I'll have to buy good acrylic paints elsewhere. Hopefully Red Dot will have some. Still using my bad(opaque) crylics for now - I think that you're right - they are opaque because they just don't have enough pigments.

Did this last night. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Soul.     have found a place for OH  ....prob. moving in next Thursday...It's a big relief....the place is very nice....good atmosphere and has a resident cat....which will find him...he's a  cat magnet.

Have every intention to do some painting today.   will show it  if I'm happy with it.

moonlight at least the paints you have will be okay to practise with, quite like the sunflower and how you've composed it.

The inktense are similar to w/c but they are made of ink, so are very strong in pigment and can be used in many ways and on lots of things ..paper, canvas, wood, fabric etc and are permanant once wet.

Gil, I'm glad your hubby will be settled very soon, will be a relief for you all.

Look forward to seeing your painting.....I've been a bit slack but will post some pics later.  OH arrives home tomorrow after being away for 6 weeks or so.  Will be busy for awhile but once we settle back into him being home, I'll pop in to check out what you've been doing.

I am really looking forward to see more of your art, Gill. I enjoyed your past paintings, and computer art too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Did this one this morning. Now I am off to visit my delightful nephew. Have a great weekend all!
