Hi folks. I've just bought a box of coloured pencils, and will be working on my first drawing soon. I'll post the completed work here. Would love people to post their art here for us to see. Doesn't matter what type of art - drawing, painting, photos/photo manipulation, cake decorating, quilting, poetry, origami, whatever. Let's have some fun and show our creativity. ๐

The tapestry looks great gill. ๐
You've got yourself a nice swag of art supplies. Good to hear that your old camera works too. I'll be dropping into Dick Smith this weekend to get the NIKON Coolpix S3300. The reviews for it aren't great, but for $80, it should be enough for taking pics of my art.

I've had to give up, I really had to. My colours were all over the place, the subjects blended into each other like Rubiks's cube and made no sense at all in the end ... after days and days and more days, I am no artist ... :_|
Maybe I could start again when the dust has settled and the ideas have consolidated into something more singular .. it's a bit like writing music, all the thematic material is there, but then it has to be structured to make sense .... :8}
I've been following this wonderful thread though, and what did actually happen was, for the first time, I was able to make a 'top-down' design pattern for a waist jacket, something brand new and not commercially produced ... so at least, something happened ... :-x

kengillard, that is just lovely, you are so clever. How do you get the colours right?

Hi Tulip. it's not hard....when you buy the tapestry canvas, they tell you what colours to buy and I think from memory where to put them....havent' done one for years so can't really remember.
But it's fun and relaxing. My OH built me a frame to work with....think it's somewhere around still.
as long as you've got good light, you can do it while watching tv. too. (if you wanted to i.e.:^O)
