Hi folks. I've just bought a box of coloured pencils, and will be working on my first drawing soon. I'll post the completed work here. Would love people to post their art here for us to see. Doesn't matter what type of art - drawing, painting, photos/photo manipulation, cake decorating, quilting, poetry, origami, whatever. Let's have some fun and show our creativity. ๐

Makes sense if it'sclose to where you live. I just prefer the sticks of charcoal for sketching...end up with black streaks on my face, legs, arms you name it lol

Getting dirty is half the fun, soul!

Getting better with the watercolours moonlight.
I particularly like the diamond pattern in the background....very nice effect.

I love it. It's very cute.
You have managed to get different depths of the same shade which I have trouble doing so far.

Hi joono, how's your painting going?
With the depth of colour, it's better to start light and then build up the colour. Different effects are achieved by using either wet in wet technique or waiting until the first layer of colour has dried.Have you looked on youtube ? I can spend hours watching people paint lol but it's a great place to learn, too.
I do think art is something that, if you get the bug.....that's it!!! you wake up reaching for a paintbrush in one hand and a coffee in the other hahaa
It's a good obsession though, much healthier for the mind than reading doom and gloom news stories or watching morning news tv etc......well, that's what I think but each to their own.
look forward to seeing your next painting.

Hi Soul. My Winnie the Pooh pic I think is quite cute too at the drawing stage but I'm too scared to paint it because I will probably spoil it LOL
I will soon. I'll show you a pic later before I finish wrecking it.

Hahaa joono...guess what ??
It's only a piece of paper ! but I do really know how you feel, I still get that feeling at times until I tell myself I can always draw it again.

It is absolutely worth it, soul. They had stunning landscape paintings created by convicts and early settlers. The documentary is called The Art of Australia, and the host is Edmund Capon. It's partly made by the BBC.
EDIT: Here is the link to it on the ABC website: http://www.abc.net.au/arts/artofaustralia/default.htm
I think you may be able to watch on the site in a day or 2.
