There is a shortgae on all brands now according to our local chemist who have placced a 1 tin restriction on all brands due to others brands now being in such demand. But yes, donations of any brand would be wonderful....along with bottles and teats, feeding cups etc.

The Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania is offering free accommodation for all animals effected by the fires, in their stable complex at Hobart Showground. Free camping is also available to anyone accompanying animals or from one of the effected areas. People requiring this can contact Scott Woodham on 0400574654 prior to arriving.

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary for any injured wildlife 6268 1184 - it is a 24hr number.

AHVEC is able to help with injured or displaced wildlife and domestic pets.They are open all night and weekend. Please don't hesitate to call 0427 025073.

Kingston Animal Hospital - The Principal Vet of the Kingston Animal Hospital (Dr Chris Lee) is offering to examine and destroy any animals from the Forcett fire, at no cost over this weekend.

Kimberly’s Pet Taxi & Pet Service has offered to help transport any animals in need. She is also offering boarding facilities with her staff.

North Hobart Veterinary Hospital has available cat accommodation, at no charge, for people who have been displaced by the fires and cannot find suitable accommodation for their cats. Please contact us on 0439 347 023. The hospital is currently closed but a staff member will arrange to meet you at the hospital to organise a bed for your cat.

Thank goodness cuddles... so many animals will be left behind and that can't be helped.  I nursed possums through the burns after a bushfire in NSW...  there will be so many of them.. so at least a lot of domestic animals will be safe...

I have just returned from the Hobart Showground delivering some food for the horses dogs and cats and polar fleece blankets. They have quite a few horses there the young man who helped unload my car said. They are accepting anything you wish to give toys clothes food for animals, pet beds and blankets. There were others delivering food toys etc whilst I was there so wonderful to see! So if anyone wishes to donate they close at 8 pm tonight. Not sure of the times tomorrow but give them a call or check with this page. They will apparently have dogs there next week I offered to take one so if anyone else would like to do that as well that would be fabulous every little bit of help is great appreciated by the wonderful guy out there in the office running this. You all deserve a pat on the back for the support you are all giving in this disastrous situation. I cannot imagine how it must feel to have absolutely nothing but the clothes you are wearing so it is great that we are all pulling out all the stops to help these people rebuild their lives after losing everything they own and love in this world. Congratulations to you all and I give you all a great bit hug xoxoxoxo
