The communications tower that services mobile phones in the Tasman Peninsula is out of power - so there are very few areas on the Peninsula where mobile coverage can be found. So if you are looking for someone who is stuck south of Dunalley and relying on calling their mobile that may be why you can't get a hold of them.

Hi All, dogs displaced by the fires can be bought to the Hobart Dogs' Home where they will be looked after temporarily. Please call 6243 5177 before bringing any dogs in, we cannot offer any substantial veterinary services as we only have vets onsite part time so if dogs require this before coming please seek from one of the participating vets who are generously offering to treat animals who need veterinary care. Other area's open for dogs and other animals are the Hobart Showgrounds and RSPCA. Hours of operation are 10am-4.30pm 7 days a week.
