can atheism work without God and what would that society be like?

without a moral lawgiver [God] in a true atheistic society with all the evolutionary doctrine acceptable. if then everybody's view/point/understanding is then relative

would rape be legal?

killing off those who are a burden to society, the handicapped, blind, down syndrome be encouraged?

what about the elderly?

infanticide?

and would gays be worse off since they don't contribute to mans upward evolutionary struggle?

to who's standard would society look to?

since so many posters on here don't like God so much have you truly considered what would happen?

this one's for you bob or at least in reverse to your normal topics.

its called the theory of evolution not the fact of evolution and it changes. so you have faith that the theory is right.

Scientific theories are the most reliable, rigorous, and comprehensive form of scientific knowledge.

This is significantly different from the word "theory" in common usage, which implies that something is unsubstantiated or speculat...

A scientific theory summarizes a hypothesis or group of hypotheses that have been supported with repeated testing. If enough evidence accumulates to support a hypothesis, it moves to the next step—known as a theory—in the scientific method and becomes accepted as a valid explanation of a phenomenon.

scientific theory a theory that explains scientific observations; "scientific theories must be falsifiable"

Burning witches was a favourite past time of Christians in History.

"you shall not permit a sorcerer to live" Exodus.

Is that much different to what happened to the soldier?

no tas most scientists don't, they go with the flow. think I told you once before that Christian scientists often wont get written up in scientific journals but have there own magazine. also nobel prizes have been given to underlings instead of the actual Christian scientists. so you are dealing with a culture I guess that hates different points of view.

if you have never read the Christian one I can send you one of my old copies may give you a different perspective as many of these guys head up science and research dept or have actually discovered cures etc rather than walk around with white coats with a name tag that says scientist.

Elephant is right. Scientific theory is quite different from how lay person use theory.

The useage now is the "fact of evolution."

That sounds to me very much like saying 'God must exist because it says so in the bible; and the bible can't be wrong because it is the inspired word of God.'

Anyway, this thread is not about whether or not there is a God or whether we evolved or were created - it's about whether society would be capable of governing itself if there were no God.
