Re: i think he's finished

There is lots of information to read.I will wait to see what ICAC reveals and hope that we get a federal ICAC.Dodgy deals and scheming to do Australians and our Country harm should be taken seriously.I believe that many of the strings to this tangled web go back to the Howard years (during which Joe Hockey was an MP) as were others such as Lobbyist MP Alexander Downer if not earlier to the time of the Powell memo for Corporate Dominance.

There is a lot to be studied .PAC and Peter Peterson 'Fix the debt' are worth reading too

Re: i think he's finished

The Prime Minister this morning maintained his budget, which only 39 per cent of voters believe is good for the country, was a “careful, thoughtful, measured” approach that was fair on the poor.

Re: i think he's finished

he hopes that he can delude us into not realising how very wrong he and his party's budget are.

How it abuses Australians and ignores their responsibilty as Australia's current Government

He also thinks we will thank him and that his Government will be respected

Re: i think he's finished

Australian Broadcasting Corporation

Broadcast: 18/05/2014

Reporter: Fran Kelly

Prime Minister Tony Abbott joins Insiders to discuss the full impact of the Federal budget.

FRAN KELLY: I think you've got a problem, though, in terms of trust. I mean you are saying now, I think what you're saying, is that the promise to restore the budget was always paramount, but I don't think everybody who heard the other promises thought that. And so now how do we know in the future what to believe when you say things and what not to believe?

TONY ABBOTT: Well I know that people hear different things. Someone can say...

FRAN KELLY: Well you said them.

TONY ABBOTT: …and people hear different things. We constantly talked about Labor spending like a drunken sailor. It was always obvious that we were going to have to rein back unsustainable spending. We constantly talked about Labor indulging in a cash splash with borrowed money. And now we've done what is necessary.

Look, we could have continued to try to fool people and say "you don't have to change" but that would, frankly, have been pretending to people that our country could somehow go on living on borrowed money.

You cannot endlessly live on borrowed money, and that's what our country had been doing for the six years of the Labor government.

FRAN KELLY: I will move on in a moment because you have been asked about the broken promises a lot this week, but before I do, following on from what you said there, play back something you said on ABC Radio before the election.

Let's have a look.

....What?

Prime Minister Tony Abbott

the prime minister appears to have backed away from his threat to hold a double dissolution election over the budget, saying the crossbenchers would understand its harsher measures.http://www.news.com.au/national/breaking-news/pm-backs-away-from-election-threat/story-e6frfku9-1226...

Re: i think he's finished

I can't see the point in attacking Joe Hockeys wife, her previous high income, or her assets. She worked until over 40 yo, before having children.

................................................................................................................................................................................................................

I wasn't. She worked  as a foreign finance exec/manager for a bank, to be exact.

Networkers remain networkers for a reason.

But Hockey is Treasurer and organised 8.8 billion dollars of OUR money over to the Reserve Bank of Australia.

In fact this is one of the first things he did once he got some reins to hold in 2013.

I believe he almost tripped over himself giving the order-knocking the cigar stand over on his way to sign the deposit slip.

The RBA never put forward a request for this much money.

This money would have gone through a bank to get there.

Only natural to ask these questions.
