Why is Abbott the politician so horrible. Hear it all the time. Abbott is a nice guy, he's a great bloke. So he obviously has to work very hard to be the horrible politician he is.

Is it that he is a wonderful man or is it that he behaves like a buffoon and makes everyone laugh so they affix that slightly ill-fitting label to him. 

Every time I read about a person killing his family I hear about how good a bloke he was and how much of a shock it was that he could do such a thing.

I don't think he is a horrible person, I do think he has let a lot of people down with his lies and backflips though.

He really shouldn't have said no cuts no deals ect because it is making him look very weak and not the tough guy he portrayed.

Right on.  Paedophiles the same, pillars of the community and the church.  Wife bashers the same,  to the outside world, a model family.
