WorkSafe compensation battle leaves injured prison worker emotionally 'broken'

Claims like this are nothing new, ask anyone with a disability who has had to deal with govt agencies where those agencies send them off to 'their' doctors for assesment.
its never about truth or the best care for the person, its allways about comming up with a way to say its not our problem (the govt)
yes, there are shonky people who try to get onto the free govt payroll but they are such a small part of the picture. but govt get away with stopping legitimet people recieving what they should get.
all the time whilst throwing money away on same sex popularity surveys ect.

this is why you make a report as soon as something happens....I feel sorry for her but she took 11 months to do anything

I don't know about other states but in NSW you have to report a workplace injury within 48 hours.
I can understand WorkCover's reluctance to believe the woman after 11 months.
Many years ago my OH hurt his foot at work...on the Thursday before Easter. I reported it to Work Cover and they were really not interested because I could not give them any details other than where and when it happened....he was still at the hospital waiting for xrays. I had to insist that they record the injury or the claim would be refused after the Easter break. Luckily it was not as serious as it appeared and the claim was not proceeded with.

I'm wondering....as a medical prison officer, did she file an incident report on the day?
She was severely assaulted by a prisoner, an incident report should have been filed.
The prisoner would have to be held accountable at the time.
It would also have been recorded on CCTV.
I'm thinking she didn't even make a report on the day, and that's why she has no
back-up to her claim
I have sympathy but....her own fault she's fighting Workcare IMO
