That was interesting. There was an old character on Landline the other day who mentioned a phrase that I could remember my Pa using (and hadn't heard since - and for the life of me , I can't remember it now).
It is the manner in which a bushie/larrikin uses his slang words. It's position in his everyday talk, the glint in his eye as he displays his humour. It can be a rough and tumble attitude.
And especially the quiet one, who usually just listens to people "going on" but when he chooses to say something, his slanging humour is side-splitting.
My ears don't like hearing females uttering those same words.
Better go and put my pinny on and prepare brekky.
