Going kayaking after work to cool down 🙂
It's funny when you hear the radio announcer say ".... and the maximum today will be 42 degrees. The current temperature is 44.8"
Enjoy your Kayaking tonight, West lakes or open water?
Thanks hawk - decided not to go - weather a bit iffy lol - was headed to Port Noarlunga, best of both worlds - calm river system and bit of open water. I am a bit of a kayak novice, still finding my way around. You ?
I have only had one attempt at Kayaking and it didn't go that well, I had a few too many ciders and kept falling off, I only found out latter the person on the back (Twin Kayak) was madly paddling back wards to prevent forward movement into deaper water.
He has been told I will be at the back next time and a repeat will result in a good paddleing around the head 😉
I was a good laugh and every one watching was in hysterics.
Good decision to give it a miss tonight, the weather is all over the place and still some rumbles

I don't have air con and I have one very distressed kitty on my hands. She keeps pacing and meowing and licking my hand (a sign of distress in her). I keep wiping her down with wet towels and misting her but she hates that too. My little deaf kitty has snoozed all day with not a peep and fat Thai knows something isn't quite right but he's so laid back he's just flopping in a different part of the house on the hour.
Do you think your cats would use those pet cooling mats? you could try with gel packs first, wrapped in towels maybe.
Google cat cooling mat - i saw some cat forums discussing them and eBay listings.
I've tried the flat ice paks under a towel, they won't lay on them. And what really concerns me is that they haven't drank any water today. They probably will later this evening.
I'm so over this heat too and it's only day 1 out of 4.

Almost midnight and still 34c. Also very windy, but hot northerly.
Sleepless night for those without a cooling system of some kind

Well its going to get even hotter so they say with a peak here on Thursday of 46c
I hope the storms bring some rain and not just lightening strikes
everyone needs to find a cool spot to chill out, you can usually tell the people that dont have aircons after a couple of days.
