I am appauled this has happened. Apparently he brought both on his private plane without declaring them and so avoiding quarantine. It looks like he will be allowed to send them home rather than being destroyed but I really think he should cop a massive fine .I cannot believe that he was unaware that we do not allow them
I hope they are healthy
He has really lost my support on this although apparently 2000 pepople have signed a change petition to allow them to stay....IDIOTS

Private jet or not, he would still have to clear customs.
are you sure?
for a long time now, there has been
an 'honour system' in place where officials
come to the plane and the private jet pilot
hands over the manifest. depp didn't declare the dogs.
looks like this incident will change that and
everyone will have to go through customs.

He should have left the dogs at home. Putting those two little dogs in jeopardy was a terrible idea.
If the dogs are euthanized, I will be furious with him. At least Australia has given him time to send them back. If his wife has to fly home with the dogs... so be it.
My animals are my babies, and I understand why he wouldn't want to leave them at home while he films. However, he has the money and means to make arrangements for the dogs to go with him(legally). If he didnt like the quarantine rules, then he should have turned down the film. It's pretty simple.

The Minister here said he was concerned if Depp didn't do the appropriate paperwork for the dogs re the US side, the dogs may not be let back in there and could be stateless.
If Barnaby Joyce knew how to use this new fangled thing called Google, he would have found this:
http://www.cdc.gov/animalimportation/dogs.html
CDC regulations require that dogs imported into the United States are healthy and are vaccinated against rabies before arrival into the United States.
The catch is that the dogs must be vaccinated at least 30 days prior to entry. Hopefully the dogs can be vaccinated today, if they haven't been already. I assume they would then have to spend a month in quarantine in the U.S..

"Mr Joyce told ABC News he was "seriously worried" they might not have the right permits to get back into the US and could be rendered "stateless".
"The question is if he breached our laws, then did he follow the correct laws in the US?" Mr Joyce said.
"My worry is will the US let them back in? If not ... will they have anywhere to go?"
Blustering fool, as if he gives a dam about the dogs or the US rules. He has just woken up to the fact that it was his department that failed.
Was that said this morning before grog or last night after grog?

Or, as is more likely, if they travel with the dogs regularly, the dogs are immunised and the paper work is in order at the US end.
Blustering Barnaby battering the little dogs and their owners to take the heat off himself.
If you live in an area with mining interests you'd better take a close look to see what has been snuck into the budget to hurt you and your lifestyle.
