They should be calling it what it is....only the company knows what they are making and should call it hat it is.

They are totally 2 different sauces.

I found some of the reponses to that link to be confusing. One says "ketchup is cold in nature and is never served hot, while all varieties of sauces are served hot". So everything in my fridge says sauce and all are consumed cold. I think this is a cultural thing and any meaning is country related.

From what I remember (in Canada) ketchup is thicker and a little sweet with a spicy taste and here (in Australia)
tomato sauce is thinner, pours easier but is still very tasty.
I have both in my pantry and they are not incredibly different, so interchange them depending on what's on the plate or recipe for the day ... I tend to make my own though.

I read it rather quickly and may have missed the answer but from what I did read no one appears to know the answer.

Yes, you skimmed. Did you at least watch the video?
Ketchup is thicker and sweeter than tomato sauce.

I think there is more to Ketchup than Tomato Sauce.
Not as tomatoey - lol - with other hidden spices ours does not have.
Different and both good.
