......
something comes of it- this has gone on for far too long in too many countries.
*waiting patiently for Pell to come unstuck*
What I never hear is Catholics themselves being up in arms about all the abuse. it doesnt happen. the flock are mostly silent.

sorry Duffs, was watching the Voice.
"Call To Action" Catholic movement supported a fundraiser organised by SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests) This movement addresses many aspects of child sex abuse by priests including the statutes of limitation. More info here
I do know where you're coming from. At one stage I thought the same way. A few years ago there was a discussion here about a certain Muslim Cleric and his sermon that referred to women and uncovered meat. I expected my local Muslim Community to start protesting, demanding his resignation or whatever. Now I know for a FACT that majority of Muslims did not share nor support his views and by not staging some kind of protests did not automatically mean they were indifferent.
If you still feel that you should demand all Catholics to take actions such as protest then I feel you should demand the same action from all members of our society because the cover-up or inaction extended outside the Church. It extended to organisations whose job it is to protect children.
To use the quote function, if you click on the quotation mark up there ^^^ it will bring up the quoted post. Just make sure you type your response outside the close quote thingos ie /quote otherwise your post will appear within that quote. hope this makes sense lol

Anglicans are protestants, but not all protestants are Anglicans.
Protestants are Christians who are not Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox. So that includes Methodists, Presbyterians, Baptists, Anglicans, **Mormons, etc.
I realise that:^O, as do most protestants.
Protestants (which includes Anglicans) followed by Anglicans ......
Which one of the following Protestant churches leads the tally with sex abuse claims,( then followed by Anglicans, then Catholics.)?
When I google sex-abuse church, the Catholic church appears in most results.
>Anglican/Episcopal
> Free Churches: Baptists; Methodists; Quakers; Salvation Army; Pentecostal churches, charismatic movements; African Independent Churches.
**The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not a Protestant denomination or any other denomination that derives it's roots from the Protestant Reformation.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe that our Church is the Restored Church of Christ which existed in the first century AD

The same happened (covering up) in other churches & other organisations as well. Abuse is abuse.

i don't know LT...I know what the collection adds up to every week and its hardly enough to maintain the Parish. Don't forget the Parish Priest has to be available 24/7 to visit the sick at home and hospitals...He need a car...
And a housekeeper 😉

Less than 4% of all priests from 1950-2013have been accused of abuse.
What percentage of men in the general population have been accused of abuse? Probably about the same number.
4% in the general population? You're kidding. One in four children is sexually abused. Do the maths.

Well there you go. I'm sure now we will see just*duff get up in arms and do something about this problem in the general population. Or is it only Catholics that should be up in arms?
