......
something comes of it- this has gone on for far too long in too many countries.
*waiting patiently for Pell to come unstuck*
What I never hear is Catholics themselves being up in arms about all the abuse. it doesnt happen. the flock are mostly silent.

Churches are not the only place where paedophiles are.... should we break up all families because some families have offenders in them?
Well put. But it appears the bigots are out for a catholic bashing session. Its a frenzy they have about every six months.

i don't know LT...I know what the collection adds up to every week and its hardly enough to maintain the Parish. Don't forget the Parish Priest has to be available 24/7 to visit the sick at home and hospitals...He need a car...
Well maybe they are making their feelings known.

What do you mean? They need the Priest to administer Communion usually or the Last Rites.

Oh please let's not try to convince people that the Catholic Church is poor and can hardly afford a car for the priest 😮
people are upset over this and they have every right to be!!

Families DO get broken up over offenders in their family?
They go under scrutiny- which is exactly what needs to happen with the Catholic Church, and hasn't so far.

Wareubin, so the Catholic Church does not deserve this critism (would use another word but want this to stay on here ;), )
so we can't criticise the Catholic Church JUST because there are rock spiders everywhere?

I mean that people are not giving their money to the church if they are not happy with their lack of action,

Hmmmm another way to look at it rosieglen
on 05-05-2013 05:25 PM
thats fine Meeps. but what about the abuse? I dont see groups of Catholics up in arms about it, demanding inquiries. not a peep. meep. (lol) (poet)
Of course they are. Who do you think is making all the noise, and rightly so??
But I don't think its fair to suggest that because people who choose to remain in the Church, support those who are responsible for the abuse and the cover-up. You would need to apply the same reasoning to every other institution and it simply doesn't make sense.
peep meep ha ha good one;\

Well i think its very fair!
are you like Az and trying to tell people that its only "some" within that have dirtied it?
