autisic people are actually extremely intelligient i.e Austism Breakthough's author was given an IQ of below 30 when he was diagnoised. because his parents learnt how to 'deal' with their son's autism, the author is now fully recovered from his autism & leads a perfectly 'normal' life
A lot of kids with autism are gluten intolerant (different from Coeliac Disease) and have other food intolerances. Sadly, diet is rarely looked at as part of treatment. If those intolerances are identified through a strict elimination diet, they quite often recover and lead "normal" lives.
Same goes for kids with ADHD and ODD. People assume that it's often junk food related but it's not. Parents will often say s/he only eats healthy food, like lots of fruit and vegetables. They are some of the cuplrits. Green peas, tomatoes and bananas are one of the worst offenders for kids with ADHD (along with preservatives, artificial colours and flavours, and natural yellow Annatto). It's surprising how many kids come off all meds after having the intolerances identified and those foods eliminated.
I have seen first hand a number of kids whose lives have improved significantly after removing the offending foods. It has improved the lives of their families too!

it's not like autistic people & their families have enough to deal with without the autisic's food intolerances, which since reading my autism books, is so many. gawd most of us have it so, so 'easy' in comparison!

Because we now have political correctness, so people are expected to tippy toe around on egg shells for fear of being accused of discriminating. I used to live near the Spastic Centre back in the day. I have no idea what it's called now but I can tell you it won't be that. The political correctness society would have made sure of that.
SpoilerI hate political correctness. Especially when you hear people say things like non white instead of saying black. People who aren't white are black or brown. There is nothing racist or discriminatory about referring to a black person as black. They refer to us as white.
Last thing I knew was that black people are black and white are white, though I'm not sure what in-betweens are called, Just shows I haven't read the latest tomes on political correctness I actually detest it too. (Referring specifically to the spoiler)

trouble being that words can be used a weapons
you can say a person is black as was of saying they arnt white, but you can also call a person a black ******, as a way of making that person a lesser person.
you can say anyone is a ******* but adding the color reference is a way of making it worse.
really only when you hear the way someone uses the term, black, white or any other color to describe a person can you figure out are they doing it as a put down.
