Growing claims that OPEC is effectively dead, and oil prices could tumble to $50 a barrel in 2015 —sitting at around $60 this week — are fuelling fears that it’s game over for black gold economies, including Russia and Venezuela.

No mystery.The dollar dropped against US$.It was over 80 cents then and is just over 72 now.

At Nambucca there are 2 fuel stations servicing about 10 000 people one was 1.429 for 95 ulp the other was 1.409
At Coffs Harbour the day before yesterday the lowest price was 1.33 for 95 ULP

Sydney's last price cycle lasted 15 days, two days longer than the previous cycle. Today is day 16 of the current cycle, with the average price for regular unleaded in Sydney at 113.8 cents per litre (Monday morning). Prices are expected to rise to 133 cents per litre this week.
The most expensive point of the current cycle was Sunday 22 November at 134.8 cents per litre for regular unleaded petrol. The corresponding prices for E10, Premium 95 and Premium 98 were 133.2, 146.7 and 153.3 cents per litre respectively.

I have NO problem paying Aus prices for petrol even when it goes up from $1.11 to $1.35 as it did the other day within an hour. When I am back in the UK I have to pay around £1.20 per litre which is Au$ 2.40!
