Went to Adelaide again today. The fridge packed up and it was going to be a two to three week wait to get a new one locally, but can get one delivered from Adelaide the next day.

A Liberty fuel station had unleaded 91 for 83.9 cents.......No not a typo, 83.9 cents. The station attendent had been there for 16 years and it was the cheapest he had seen. ( sent a photo of the price board to the daughter as she often fills up there   Smiley Happy  )

The station only had 91 octane left. Diesel and 95 octane sold out and E10..........Apparently its a victim of corona virus. One of the ingredients is no longer available and so it is not being imported into the country. Its the first time I have seen the litre meter run faster than the dollar meter for a very long time.

Strange times .....

I paid 82.9 for E10 in sydney today and noticed it was 80.9 for E10 a few days ago. $30 got me 36 litres and have started to store some incase I can't get back if things get worse.

50c per litre will be about the lowest price even if bigoil dumps crude for free

The Govt excise is flat rate of 42.3 c per L

https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/Excise-and-excise-equivalent-goods/Fuel-excise/Excise-rates-for-fuel...

remember that cracked crude is not just converted into petrol but also plastics and other high value chemicals

an an aside , price of plastics should drop alot and so heroically contribute to Australia's industrial awakening during global contagion

Well for the first time in my life I paid 75.9 for petrol. It was E10 so you could say it was not around when I started driving but we did have standard. Cost $37 to fill the car which needed 48 litres. Luckily due to my job I can get some benefit as I am still using nearly 2 tanks per week.

Our price is still $1.45.9 the same as it was two months ago and it needs a watchdog that can actually do

something about the profiteering.stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

Our price went down to $135.9 on Friday and then up to $139.9 on Monday so they are expecting the holiday

makers as normal so hopefully that doesn't eventuate as we can normally get 1000's up here.stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

Big ripoff as  crude is only AU$40 per BBl (which is 159 Litres)

= 25 c per litre + Govt excise 42 c per L + refinery costs+ wholesale cost + delivery + retailing cost - refinery value added products
