absolutly
dog racing as well
once the truth comes out as it has there is no excuse for continuing to abuse animals for entertainment/gambling

There may be an argument for racing being cruel, but why do you think riding of any persuasion is cruel?
Where would the world be today without horses?

where would the world be without slavery during the 1800s?

I couldn't think of a better analogy than that. The psychology is similar. First they have they have their spirits broken, then they learn to serve humans because they no longer have the will to resist. It is a conditioning that occurs in the brain.

Racing aside - I don't condone it.
You very obviously have no idea of the relationship that can exist between a horse & it's rider.

It probably shoulld be banned but what will rise to promiinence in its absense? Cage fighting? The racing industry involves a lot of people and jobs.
Using animals for entertainment is cruel if the animals are being forced to do things. And the Royal Family should be charged with cruelty for their fox hunts.
