What is this new thing where members think it's fine and dandy to tell other members they are "off topic"?
This entire BOARD is off topic.
The rules haven't changed since 2009. They state:
"Grounds for immediate post/thread removal, board sanction and/or eBay suspension
The following types of postings are cause for immediate post removal, warning, board sanction and/or suspension from the site. Other inappropriate postings not listed below may also warrant removal and/or suspension from the site. eBay reserves the right to remove any post without warning or further notice.
Posts that do not relate to the discussion board's topic(s)."
See up there where it says "topic(s)".
Posts that do not relate to TOPICS of the discussion BOARD are not allowed.
It doesn't state that THREADS are not allowed to be off topic.
It states that posts that do not relate to the discussion board's TOPICS are not allowed.
As this board has no specific topic being off topic is actually posting within the board rules.

yes, that can be interpreted as a control thing tantamount to bullying
Report me then.
I can't see any rule anywhere that says one is not allowed to express their frustration and LOLs at the spelling and grammar errors made by others.

That doesn't mean the CS board as a whole either. Each thread has a topic, if the topic is tags and you want to talk about Australian politics in that thread... then that is off topic.
I don't know why people think because CS is for non-ebay topics (general topics about anything) that equates to you can post about what ever you feel like in any thread, no matter what the topic of that particular thread is.
There is no rule WHATSOEVER stating that threads are not allowed to go off topic.
There is a rule of common courtesy. Start your own topic instead of hijacking someone else's.

I agree, Especially ones who hardly ever post here or join in general threads but turn up just to pick on other people's spelling or back up their chums.
I guess "hardly ever post here or join in" means people like me with lives and jobs.
Lame. Seriosuly lame.

funnier still is when the board spell cops feel the need to correct others spelling or grammar errors (without payment) they make typos and grammar errors themselves

Explain this then, if you will. Why have large chunks of off topic, disruptive posts been removed from threads?
I think you've answered your own question - 'off topic 'and 'disruptive' are not the same thing.

They should get paid actually, all that effort they put in. Reading every thread looking for spelling and grammar errors.

I will edit that to off topic and/or disruptive posts.
