What is this new thing where members think it's fine and dandy to tell other members they are "off topic"?
This entire BOARD is off topic.
The rules haven't changed since 2009. They state:
"Grounds for immediate post/thread removal, board sanction and/or eBay suspension
The following types of postings are cause for immediate post removal, warning, board sanction and/or suspension from the site. Other inappropriate postings not listed below may also warrant removal and/or suspension from the site. eBay reserves the right to remove any post without warning or further notice.
Posts that do not relate to the discussion board's topic(s)."
See up there where it says "topic(s)".
Posts that do not relate to TOPICS of the discussion BOARD are not allowed.
It doesn't state that THREADS are not allowed to be off topic.
It states that posts that do not relate to the discussion board's TOPICS are not allowed.
As this board has no specific topic being off topic is actually posting within the board rules.

you can argue until the cows come home but blind freddy can see the purpose behind the deliberate derailments.
According to the rules each BOARD has a topic.

Some really need to know not to do the spelling police thing
Who knows that there might just be some posters here that have dyslexia
i always thought it was a low act to have a go at people with a disabilty.

getting interpersonal by giving orders, telling others that they are off topic / start another etc ...would be more against the rules I'm guessing

the purpose for the objection is to bring attention to the deliberate hijacking and derailment to get the threads closed.
i don't think anyone has tried to hide that purpose.

People with true dyslexia would not even bother to engage with an Internet board which uses text as a means to engage. Why would they when they can't **bleep**ing read?
People who can't read can't engage here.

Pepe, are you talking about the tag thread ?
The OP was a targetted interpersonal dispute, not a topic in line with CS , posted to announce possible violations, shame specific members and a whole group of members .
It was a troll thread.
It did not belong here .It was designed for a purpose and it in itself was a violation of community values ..yet within the OP it asked if other things should be .It was worse than the issue it seemed to think a huge one.
And yet it stayed ..it was fed and it was enjoyed ...that was obvious .
It should have and would once have been removed all together

Exactly Iza.
If I was to be tagged with something I did not like I would decide my options......I could...........ignore it.....or contact the writer of the tag and ask them to remove it.............or I could report it.
But I certainly would not start a thread about it thinly disguised as interpersonal against the person who tagged me.
