What is this new thing where members think it's fine and dandy to tell other members they are "off topic"?

This entire BOARD is off topic.

The rules haven't changed since 2009. They state:

"Grounds for immediate post/thread removal, board sanction and/or eBay suspension

The following types of postings are cause for immediate post removal, warning, board sanction and/or suspension from the site. Other inappropriate postings not listed below may also warrant removal and/or suspension from the site. eBay reserves the right to remove any post without warning or further notice.

  • Posts that do not relate to the discussion board's topic(s)."

See up there where it says "topic(s)".

Posts that do not relate to TOPICS of the discussion BOARD are not allowed.

It doesn't state that THREADS are not allowed to be off topic.

It states that posts that do not relate to the discussion board's TOPICS are not allowed.

As this board has no specific topic being off topic is actually posting within the board rules.

Tactics!

It's not a **bleep**ing James Bond movie. It's a discussion board. Get a life or get a grip.

Pepe, are you talking about the tag thread ?

The OP was a targetted interpersonal dispute, not a topic in line with CS , posted to announce possible violations, shame specific members and a whole group of members .

It was a troll thread.

It did not belong here .It was designed for a purpose and it in itself was a violation of community values ..yet within the OP it asked if other things should be .It was worse than the issue it seemed to think a huge one.

And yet it stayed ..it was fed and it was enjoyed ...that was obvious .

It should have and would once have been removed all together

rubbish !!

Buzz...Not being able to spell well makes me neither stupid nor dumb!
A school principle once told my parents that it a high percentage of ambidextrous people have a great deal of trouble with spelling. Apparently it's the way the brain transfers the message from one part to another. I spell phonetically, which is often wrong. BUT is neither,as I said stupid nor dumb!
