This is what he said yesterday to a group of Liberal supporters (well who else). What a prime time goose.
And what a bunch of geese we will look when he represents us internationally.
“No one,” Tony Abbott told a Melbourne gathering of Liberal Party faithful, “however smart, however well-educated, however experienced … is the suppository of all wisdom”.

Of coures he meant to say Repository and I guess some people don't need a good reason to put someone down.

Abbott is just like the Will Ferrell character in the movie, The Campaign. Next he might be hitting babies and dogs...
That's actually a disgusting thing to say and an insult to those who suffer domestic violence.
Obviously you haven't seen the movie.
In the movie. the bumbling politicitian who is campaigning makes gaffe after gaffe and the punching babies episode is another unfortunate gaffe. It has nothing to do with domestic violence.

How much more ridiculousness can we take from this imbecile.
Day 3 gave us Gaffe number 3 from the moronic Abbott.
I would have thought his miders would have been keeping him hidden over the next few days so he could live down the last 2 major foot in mouth outbursts.

By gaffe no 3 I assume you mean "gay marriage the fashion of the day?"
How is that a gaffe?
He's sticking to his principles, which many might not agree with and yet many more might, and he's not scared to say it.
Unlike Mr Flip Flop Rudd who would bend any which way just to garner votes.

Its a "fashion" icy?? Seriously?
You find that he would say that out loud acceptable?
It's a gaffe of gigantic proportions given the conversations on the subject over the last 2 years.
on 14-08-2013 05:09 PM
I'm sorry but I disagree that it's a gaffe.

Tony Abbott is making speeches/appearances in the hopes of getting people to vote for him.
Way to go Tony... loose a few/many voters everyday you speak to the public.

I worked for a gay couple in 1990. So it is a long standing "fashion". I think being Catholic has a lot to do with the way he feels. I am Catholic and it took me a while to come around to accepting it.
As for Mr Rudd everyone is entitled to change their mind. Of course he may have done it to garner votes but he is now committed to doing what he said.

A3: "It's a gaffe of gigantic proportions given the conversations on the subject over the last 2 years."
Gigantic?? Saying it will not make it so, just desperately underwrite a personal bias.
The last 2 years have been spent in the Poor Me camp re-writing the Macquarie Dictionary’s definition of misogyny (female editor?) to include a man who said of a candidate ".....have a little sex appeal"...... together with (overlooked?) ...... "and they are very connected with the local area"
A3: "Tony Abbott is making speeches/appearances in the hopes of getting people to vote for him."
Well duh.

Monman if you think that his gaffe isn't gigantic then you are out of touch with the majority of Australians who would like to see the laws changed in this regard.
On the one hand he says it is an issue that he regards as extremely important but then today he likens it to a fashion moment. Which is it? And so that means he has been lying all these months? According to your lot, he apparently NEVER lies. He is just honest.
Yeah right.
