I was sitting at a redlight with my girlfriend (neither of the above two) and we were kissing while waiting for the light to change.

No sooner did we get to her house than the phone rang.  It was one of her friends, "I don't know if I should tell you this, but I saw  L**** kissing some girl tonight".......She got the friend calmed down, and hung up.........Immediately the phone rang, it was another one of her girlfriends............"Oh, I saw your boyfriend kissing some girl in his car tonight"............

Even long before social networks were ever contemplated, the nosy friends network was in action.
