'Religion' is a state of mind whereby the faith in something real or imagined becomes a basic ruling philosophy of a person or groups of people's lives.

A very apt example of  'Religion' is the modern day misguided belief in "Global Warming/Climate Change/Climate Diversity.

People who have got a particular  'Religion' require no proof of the foundation on which their beliefs are based but simply rely on "blind Faith" 🙂

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

If scaling the heights of absurdity was an Olympic sport, your name would be a household word, Poddy.

Does the word 'religion' in the OP refer to a belief in a deity or an organization (church) formed for the  purpose of worshipping that deity?

There is nothing wrong with believing in a god; the problem arises when someone puts a fence around that belief, starts prescribing the appropriate behaviour and rituals  demanded by that god, and tries to persuade or coerce others intoadopting that behaviour.

yeah such is diversity, some will believe in god without evidence the universe was built on purpose yet they'll deny climate change even if it hits them square in the face
