Also some people are born into it, and if their lives are closely involved with the church, and have no friends outside of the church; and are nice complaint people who do not think for themselves, then yes they are brainwashed.  And you can substitute "mosque' or "synagogue" for church.  But I guess belonging to a faith gives them their place in the world, it gives them security.  Questioning those values would be very threatening to them, and I can see how easy it would be to turn them against the outsiders who are trying to damage their little insular world, by questioning its whole basis.

I've always been of the opinion that if there was a "God" or multiple ones (considering the different religions that are around)

then why is there no difference in the lifespan of the people on earth based on religion.

Everyone suffers and no "God" spares any religion from that suffering,(in a number of cases the "disciples" are the ones

Religion is a belief and it might help those that belief and as long as they don't force it on others or use it as an excuse to hurt

I could answer but when peoples minds are closed (and I am not suggesting yours is) they do not want to listen.The Bible contains many scientific facts unknown to man at the time.But people are happy to accept the world was created from nothing but refuse to accept that YHWH(GOD) created all things.You need more faith to be an atheist then a believer in YHWH.No matter what you show them they will ignore it.But this bob person is offensive and always has been.
