realestate.com.au

does anyone know when you search sold properties does it show the actual sale price, or the price it was listed for?

Re: realestate.com.au

Sale price.

But often the owner/real estate agents don't disclose it.

Re: realestate.com.au

Yes they list it as sold but it usually says somethng like "Contact Agent'.

The last house I sold I didn't want the sold price listed on realestate.com. So the estate agent didn't disclose it publicly.

If it doesn't sell, then it won't be listed under the 'sold' section.

Re: realestate.com.au

I just wish that the RE agents would list them before they shared with known investors.  It's sad to see so many beautiful old homes demolished to make room for more units.

Re: realestate.com.au

Actually, it depends on the agent and the seller.

Advertising can show the same listed price until the property contract is finalaized. Then the agent may decide to change the listed price and disclose the real sale price... or opt not to disclose it at all!

Calling the agent's the best way to find out what price the property achieved.

I use onthehouse.com.au to search sale prices of a house but that's only after they've been through stamp duty registration with council and that can take months from date of sale. Still, it's a great site for research and to check out what the market is doing.

Re: realestate.com.au

The Age used to publish auction.sale results on Siundays, not sure if they still do or not.

you won't get much info on sales from realestate com

there you can get things like the average prices for suburbs etc. etc

Re: realestate.com.au

Depending on how long ago it was sold, it will eventually show on here.

Enter the address in the top search, click on the house and go to the bottom of the page and bingo.

We recently bought privately, no RE involved and if I put our address in it comes up as sold and the price we paid.
