I just wish that the RE agents would list them before they shared with known investors.  It's sad to see so many beautiful old homes demolished to make room for more units.

That's for sure: my street is full of Edwardian, heritage-listed homes. On the corner was a 1960's yellow brick, four storey apartment block that developers of the day erected after demolishing a Victorian mansion. This was before stringent heritage laws were enforced. It was such an eye-sore and everybody in the neighbourhood hated it. Two years ago, the block was sold and everybody held their breath to see what chrome and glass, grey-rendered concrete monstrosity would replace it. Well, it wasn't bought by an investor but a cashed-up family man who pulled down the apartment building and set out to create a replica of the Victorian mansion. Using original plans and photographs and a labour-intensive team, they painstakingly built up what was originally there, using authentic building materials of the time and antique fittings. It looks spectacular - perhaps not as "lived in" as I'm sure the original house would look by now but once the gardens have had time to mature, it will no doubt fit the rest of the street.

I bought the family a magnum of champagne and a box of Belgian chocolates for their troubles! Woman Very Happy

Depending on how long ago it was sold, it will eventually show on here.

Enter the address in the top search, click on the house and go to the bottom of the page and bingo.

We recently bought privately, no RE involved and if I put our address in it comes up as sold and the price we paid.
