something albanese said the other day is correct too. the 2 tier NBN has attracted buyers into this area chasing real FTTP as opposed to turnbulls fraudband. 6 real estate agent calls this week ..umm 'were looking for homes in your area'

i hate to think the rest have it second rate, or more likely not at all.

3and a bit years will see this lot of trolls tossed out again, he'll be as popular as a social disease within a year.

LL: ".....the 2 tier NBN has attracted buyers into this area chasing real FTTP....." what would be unreal FTTP?, and do you really think if you were buying a property a broadband connection would  feature prominently in your requirements? because if it did, you would be very  restricted in  the properties/areas available.

Delimeter: "The tragedy of the NBN is that it’s a great policy with popular support, but backed by a dysfunctional political party which can’t seem to manage NBN Co’s failures well......"

Delimeter opinion/analysis July 2013
"Troubling news here for supporters of the NBN. If Essential’s results are to be believed, support for the NBN policy as a whole has really taken a hit over the past several months, to the extent that a large proportion of the Australian population believes the NBN policy as a whole should be dumped or changed."

"3 and a bit years will see this lot of trolls tossed out again" Gracious in defeat, and I would suspect with the same degree of forecasting  accuracy (hope) that has been displayed here over the past years.

The LNP broadband is going to  make the divide between rich and poor even bigger.  People who cannot afford to pay the connecting fee & people who live in rental accommodation will not be able access all the services that people who have the fibre will.  It might not make a huge difference now, but in couple of years it will be very noticeable.

You're a bit out of touch there John. People are already considering broadband availablilty when buying and renting houses.

I see you've hunted through for the negative messages on Delimiter.  Not that they're hard to find. Renai has always been on the Lib side, hence why I used his as a publication to link to. To avoid the accusation of being politically biased on the subject.

It's a foolish argument to use the number of connections so far over a four year period as a measure of the rollout pace. Firstly there was a trial which took about 2 years to build and start operations on. Then there were changes caused by the deal with Telstra.  Then there is the fact that the transit network had to be built before anyone could connect. Once the POIs are complete and the network build fans out the pace of the roll out picks up. It's easy to see on the roll out maps.

Competition regulator chairman Rod Sims says the construction delays facing Labor’s national broadband network are not surprising because it is a big project being built by a new company.

Just about every single big project goes over budget and takes longer;  that does not mean we should not be doing them.  If we did not do any project that could be over budget and have some hiccups we would not have Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Hume Hwy., the Snowy Hydro Scheme etc....................

Although the roll out had experiences delays, last I saw it was not over budget,

Barnaby got hysterical about NBN Co earning interest on the money not spent due to delays.  His attack could be excused as a side effect of being rather intoxicated at the time, perhaps.
