scenario...your views?

How would you react to this scenario?

Driving along a road you see a young boy in school uniform on his way to school waving a gun and knife at passing traffic.

Would you ignore him or take steps to ensure the gun and knife are 'toys' and not the real deal?

I would be alarmed simply by what he was doing.

I would call the school, if they thought it was funny and did not say they would investigate, I would call police, especially if the gun OR the knife was not obviously a toy.

The public are not allowed to carry knives. (or guns)

They are allowed to play with toys....Woman Happy

Re: scenario...your views?

How did the school know the child with the knife and gun hadn't arrived? He could have tossed them and slipped in with all the other little cherubs.

I might have told the school, I sometimes let them know there are kids riding bikes without their helmets on so they can give another general reminder. I probably wouldn't have followed it up though.

I drove straight to the school allowing time for staff to go out the front and wait for his arrival. There is only one entrance from that direction.

Is now in the hands of the department who showed genuine concern and informed me that his actions were not acceptable. Maybe I will hear from them, maybe not.

on a more sober & realistic note a young person was shot in the states when jogging home with a toy rifle.

Could have had his ipod on, item didn't say, but didn't hear or heed the officer who then shot him.

A boy, whether intentional or not, is just as capable as an adult to pull the trigger.
