scott morrison's big pre-election untruth

scott morrison's in singleton today, tellin' the locals porkies,  that the labor government is goin' to locate a refugee detention centre there.

tony burke has categorically stated more than once, that this is NOT goin' to happen.     monies allocated have been returned

to treasury, re-allocated for other projects.

right up to blackout the nationals were runnin' ads. toutin' the same untruths.

can't trust 'em to be truthful prior to the election, can't trust 'em afterwards.

Minister for Immigration and Border Protection and Commander of Operation Sovereign Borders Joint Agency Task Force address press conference on Operation Sovereign Borders 23 September 2013

We have terminated the plan for a detention centre at Singleton and we have transferred the funds, the $58 million, we're in the process of doing that now through consultation with the Treasurer to have those funds available for offshore processing facilities, as we advised in our policy before the election.

The Singleton Argus ,

Di Sneddon,3rd Sept,2013

IMMIGRATION minister Tony Burke announced late Monday that the contingency plan to set $43million aside for a detention centre for refugees to be based at Singleton Army Camp is no longer needed.

Mr Burke has ordered his department to hand the money back to treasury.

He said the message ‘if you get on a boat you won’t get permanent residency in Australia’ is being heard.

The news was welcomed at Singleton Council last night for no other reason, other than the knowledge itself.

who scrapped it and who handed the money back to Treasury ?
