Re: so.....

I try to boycott Nestle products because that company has been responsible for many deaths and much ilness in 3rd world countries.

IMO, a much more compelling reason that a little symbol on a label.

Re: so.....

Yes, the trouble is that Nestle is the manufacturer of so many products, it is impossible to boycott all of them.

Re: so.....

I'd rather use something like this to make my choice as to what chocolate I buy.

Re: so.....

Agree.  Child abuse, baby deaths, or a little symbol on the label.  Make a choice.

everyone should boycott all chocolate then they will stop making it and I won't be tempted.

Good idea.. there would  be less tooth decay and possibly less excess weight on people as well!

yes you do know 'just eat plain chocolate with no fillings simple - not that simple if people like chocolate coated almonds, peppermint filled chocolate, rocky road chocolate!

I don't like plain chocolate.

all of those items you have mentioned do not have the need for halal certification

and I would thank you not to distort what I have written and make it appear to say things that I have not - I did not do that.

**and if you do that to me again I will report you to ebay for it

**I suggest you read board usage policies first, save wasting moderators time.

Says who? Obviously there is a need and the manufacturer has chosen to get their produts halal certified for commercial reasons.

Not for a few consumers to demand what should have halal certification and what doesn't or even if halal certification is necessary at all.

yes you do know 'just eat plain chocolate with no fillings simple

As I posted above individual consumers make their own choices which food products they buy.. they don't need telling by the anti-halal certification brigade which products they should or shouldn't buy. The majority of consumers do not object to halal certification.

No one here objects to others refusing to buy products with halal certification, it is their choice, and doesn't affect any one else.

What there are objections to is the anti-halal brigade instructing others not to buy products with halal certication on the labels. What is at the base of the anti-halal certification campaign is religious bigotry. Sanitarium (owned by the Seventh Day Adventists) is registered as a charity and doesn't have to provide financial statements (pays no tax).. no one ever makes a fuss about that.

We are all over 18 here, quite capable of deciding which products we do or don't buy.

I would much rather support Australian producers and manufacturers....over international ones... halal label or not.

Re: so.....

perhaps before you post  on a subject you could go back to the original post and find out what the topic of discussion is and stay on track and judge whether this is a subject for you

as you are so obviously pro halal then you would not agree with the entire thread and perhaps stay away from it as it is an anti halal thread

and for whatever reasons you are so pro halal so be it

but to come on to a thread that is anti halal and try and turn the concensus against the OP and every one who is in their favour

is  a little bit counter productive  don't you agree

It's no wonder you forget what the original topic is about you try so hard to throw every one off the track

I have not come on these boards to argue with the likes of you so don't bother to adress me every time you disagree with me

as clearly it is on every issue and this also is counter productive don't you think
