Why would I do that?  I love Cadbury's chocolate.

I bought these for the boys this year.  Chocolatier, made in Australia.  No idea whether they are Halal.  Don't care.

That particular info was reprinted by them but came from an outside source.
I am amused that you couldn't be "less interested"

I am amused that you are amused. Why are you amused? Do you think it grammatically incorrect to say "I couldn't be less interested in who has the most/least paedophiles".

boycott thier products and send an email to the company and other companies that have halal certification and let them know that

you will be boycotting their products as well

Not in the slight bit interested in doing that. I choose food and produce that is preferably made in Australia. Check the sugar and fat content first.

Saw heaps of Darrell Lea chocs and Easter Eggs in a pharmacy today, they deserve supporting more than a foreign chocolate manufacturer.

Still halal, regardless.

yes but they're not boycotting it because

it is permissible for muslims to eat - they

are boycotting it because the company pays

for the certification.

really?

They pay for certification so they can sell to the export market.

I bought 3 Cadbury Bilbies today.

at least bilbies are native and so more australian than rabbits (an introduced pest).

pepe did you know that the cadbury factory in Hobart had to shut down for 5 weeks over the christmas break

because of a slow down of sales and a stockpiling of products

Many Australians are already boycotting the company and it has already had an effect on sales

Kelloggs breakfast cereals are also on the halal certification list unnecessarily so as these also contain no meat products

Seems like a big ploy to raise money for the islamic council and taking advantage of the ignorance of Companies as to what

Halal actually means

Vegemite is another one as is Milo, Quick , most Sara Lee frozen desserts , Villies entire range of pies and pasties

most of Kraft spreads

so if your going to boycott cadburyschocolates  in all fairness you should also boycott the companies that I have just mentioned and all the

others on the list, and one things for sure if you don't the list aint going to get any shorter

i love cadbury chocolate, hate lindt. Its to...chocolatey for me 😞

I love the elegant rabbits and the red tulip big eggs and little solid eggs and cadbury creme eggs and dont give a rats about their label and certification and whatever else.

Im sure they will cry into their pillows at night if a few people decided not to eat their products and emailed them about it 😄

Julia........ I am very well aware of why some are boycotting cadbury
Some chocolates do need certification because they have fillings that are made with gelatine, if they want to sell to the export market.
Picture this........ I have a product I sell locally. It doesn't require labelling but I also sell it interstate where it needs to be labelled.
For the sake of expediency and convenience to me, I label all of them.
I have no way of predicting how many will sell interstate so I am able to provide the same product locally if that market is stronger this month. It is less expensive to la el all of them.
