Our local Woolies story had some when I went there on Friday and the price was $7.90 for a 10 pack which
when last purchased was only $5.50.
Kettle chips were $4.25 and normally sell for $3.50 or on special at $2.25
Chocolate was $5 and normally on "special" at between $2.25 to $3.50.
Even stuff that had to be used that day had very minimal reduction and just wasn't selling.

never fear, there is o shortage of toot paper.

since then i have seen nothing but empty shelves

its a serious problem, even if its good for jokes
The Government is making it an issue and has been for some time. Local production of toilet paper was increased and more staff were recruited to transport it to supermarkets etc. across the country. But we attacked the shelves which has forced retailers to impose limits on purchases. Yet we continue to attack the shelves. The retailers are adopting different approaches to try and accommodate everybody, with particular attention to elderly and disabled people. It remains an issue because we are keeping it an issue. And we are forcing more and more restrictions to be put in place.

The way people are behaving you would think toilet paper grows on trees. Sorry.

how is it if they are getting plenty and you can only buy limited quantities is it not available?
if customers can only buy 1 item, be it one roll, 4 roll pack, 8 roll pack or 40 roll pack, then it should be starting to be back on shelves.
shouldnt it?
the limits on puchase have been in place a few weeks now.
or are our stores (here in wallyroo) not enforcing the limits?
or are staff taking it all?
i see no excuse for empty shelves this long.
if there is no shortage at the manufactoring end, then fill trucks with it and bring it to kadina and wallyroo!
or tell the truth, there is a big shortage, they cant re stock the shelves.

I have witnessed the shelves being re-stocked at my local Woolworths, with restrictions. They were empty 15 minutes later. And some people are shrewd and crafty. They will buy toilet paper, leave and then return for more - over and over. Sometimes a number of people work together, I have seen it. Fair enough, the non-metropolitan towns are probably struggling more and I hope more is done to balance it out. Bums in need are the same where ever they are.

Feed time at the zoo - no wonder the supermarkets are now regulating how many are allowed to enter at the same time
I hope the checkout people are wearing masks

Got to keep an eagle eye on prices , to ensure the supermarkets do not accidently start price gouging ( as in taking advantage for profit during a national calamity ( an unlawful act ie ticket scalpers ) - as oppposed to normal market pressures ie demand and supply in a semi-free market society)

I had a theory that the same people keep going in the morning and keep buying a pack when they see it.
Well my partner tells me a work friend has 90 rolls and whenever they go to the shops they buy another pack as she can go early in the morning..
She told my partner it was her thing and felt insecure if she doesnt keep buying.
Unfortunately I can't repeat what I replied with.
Maybe what those types need is a good enema ...

My cynical theory is the supermarkets have it hidden on a deserted island.
Their plan is they want us all going back to the supermarket looking for TP
and whilst there we are spending like there is no tomorrow.

Looks like everyone is doing the same. Went to pick up some groceries at Woolies today Not looking for 'loo paper or handwash, particularly.
Noticed everyone was walking around with a 9-pack of sorbent under their arm or in their trolley.
So I walked around to have a look, and sure enough!
The shelves were stacked with toilet paper! Tissues as well, but tissues have not been scarce.
So I picked up a 9-pack, just in case.
Sorbent seem to be able to keep up with the demand!
No handwash, though plenty of soap. Ppl seem to think anti-bacterial handwash is essential
