the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

This is a thread with no particular

Topic so no one can be off topic ๐Ÿ™‚

So if anyone out there has something

To say about anything you like now

Is your chance

Keep it clean

And be nice

See how long that lasts

Can we keep politics and religion out

Of the conversation

It would win, then get caught in the seabreeze and flutter away to Brighton...stick to the side of a millionaire's beach box, and they would claim the prize ๐Ÿ˜›

It's a figure of speech - I was trying to be light hearted and friendly.

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

Today's "little task - hardly strenuous" was to move an easy chair and some bookshelves.

No worries.

A trolley takes care of the heavy things and everything fits nicely on the trailer.

All good.

Or so we thought...

There was a clap of thunder almost directly overhead, and the heavens opened up.

Which led to a mad dash to get the tarp out of the car, and over the load, ha ha.

Having got the tarp strapped down, of course, the rain stopped.

So we figured we'd take advantage of the dry spell and take the load over to the storage place.

And of course... the moment we stopped there, down came the rain, again, ha ha.

So we stood in the dry and made friends with the cat that lives there.

A very friendly cat.

Lots of miaows, and rubbing itself against our ankles.

We opened the storage unit and the cat decided that that was it's invitation to go in, and look around.

It's not the neatest stacking job in the world, and furniture comes in odd shapes, so there's plenty of little nooks and crannies to be explored...

We moved what furniture we had, first, working on the principle that all the noise and bustle would dislodge the cat.

That shows what we know about cats, ha ha.

With everything in, and the cat still not out, I went up to the front office to let the manager know that the cat was somewhere in the storage unit.

He walked back with me and my mate was standing outside the unit.

He put his finger up to his lips - "Shhh", then pointed into the unit.

I got to the door, and peered around the corner...

Guess who had decided that the velour covered easy chair was a perfect spot for a nap? ha ha.

I'm glad it ended that way, I wasn't looking forward to half emptying the unit, otherwise...

Not too bad a day, except for the weather.

Still, I can't complain, I got another (Another?!) bird bath out of it, ha ha.

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

I found it a spot for the birdbath, and having done that, I found it another spot where it could go, ha ha.

I can see that having put my mind to where it could go, I'm going to keep finding places for it, now, ha ha.

The terracotta monster, if worst comes to worst, I'll find somewhere sunny for it, dump some potting mix in it and grow succulents or cactuses in it, ha ha.

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

The peewit landed on the birdbath, had a bit of a look around, had a drink and said "Yep, this is good".

I said "But I've got another spot where I could put it".

The peewit looked at me and said "Nah... It's probably better if you get another birdbath to put there".

They haven't been here six months and they've already settled into the routine of the place - when in doubt offer an alternative that I'll find really hard to argue my way out of, ha ha.

Something along the lines of "But you said that'd be a really good spot for a birdbath, so you should put one there...".

It's like a certain possum with her "suggestions" - "You know, I've been thinking, and a ramp (bridge... platform...) here would work really well...", ha ha.

Anyone'd think I live my life around them.

Well, they certainly do, ha ha.

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

Back in the day, at a music festival in the country, I dressed up as a giant lizard and played "Air" Hammond organ.

Those were the heady, early days of "Air" music, and anything went.

I can still remember miming my way through a particularly challenging Chopin number.

I don't think the crowd were on the same wavelength as me, because I wasn't invited back, the next year, ha ha.
