This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out
Of the conversation

What every well groomed gentleman needs to carry as part of his kit...
A combination pocket knife and 3 1/2 inch straight razor.
It'd certainly be a step up from shaving with a British Army issue clasp knife, ha ha...
It does the job, but requires a steady hand...
As I have found, a kitchen knife sharpener sharpens to a certain degree, but to obtain a "razor" edge, one cannot go past using the rough side of a leather belt as a strop.
An interesting anecdote that supposedly dates from the time of the Crimean war is that British cavalry officers wore moustaches because it's very easy to cut your upper lip while shaving, and in the unsanitary conditions of war, infections are rife.
I doubt it's more than an amusing myth... As I have found, the history of facial hair and its relationship to the military is a long and tangled one, ha ha...

One of the wonderful things about being a property owner is maintenance...
Wooden fences...
Good for the first 20 or so years, okay-ish for next ten to fifteen, maybe... ha ha...
But eventually, they have to be replaced.
So I got to thinking if the wheelie bin is made from recycled plastic, why not fence palings?
Okay... This isn't Quite what I had in mind, it's a bit loud and cheerful, but it's a good start... ha ha...
It'd look better on a day care centre than as a suburban fence, but at least I know, now, that the stuff's out there...
Life's great adventure - you never know quite what you're going to find, but it'll always be a surprise, ha ha...

Minus 3.3 this morning if you go by the weather app.
I prefer to put my faith in the possum - she slept in the warmer of the two houses, so I Know it Must've been cold, ha ha....
The car took it's own time turning over when I tried to start it, earlier, so I popped by the local servo to see if they could change over the battery for me.
No worries, all said and done in under half an hour....
It probably wouldn't have taken that long but we got chatting, ha ha....
Apparently this lockdown has been a real boost for battery sales - people can only travel short distances, so their car batteries don't get the chance to recharge properly, and that shortens the battery's life...
The lockdown might not be good for the Greater Economy, but some people are reaping rewards from it...
Just for interest's sake, I should make the time to do the rounds of the local auto parts stores and sound them out about battery chargers.
Not for the sake of getting one, but to see if they have any stock left...
If nothing else it gives me an excuse to go for a bit of a drive and top up the charge in the battery, ha ha...
We live in interesting times...Fascinating, indeed...
Stay well, good people. 😉

Here's a picture of a puppy to cheer you up, and momentarily distract you...
Aaw, how cute... ha ha...
Would you rather dwell in pessimism? Isn't there enough of that in the World, as it stands?
It's not that I'm not taking the current crisis seriously.
I may not beat this virus, but I have my dignity.
I will go down with my head held high, and a smile on my lips.
At the end off the day, it might kill me, but it will not best me.
Be strong,
Or be afraid.
It is ultimately your choice...

Nope, no pessimism for me. Give me a puppy or kitten pic any day and I'm happy (actually a picture of a baby anything lifts the spirits every time)🤗
Keep smiling😊

"I'm still getting fed, aren't I?" said the old man bird, as dusk fast approached...
The anticipatory look of disappointment was priceless, ha ha...
He hovered on the ramp that leads up to the roof, but only the distance of a step away from the bridge where the food goes...
I apologised for my lateness... As if I'd forget him... ha ha...
No sooner have I put the food down for him than he's eagerly scooping it up into his beak, while pushing my hand away... "Yes, yes.. the food is here.. I don't need any help with it.."... ha ha...
Some might say he's a cheeky old man, but I prefer to say that he's brimming over with personality... ha ha...
