the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

This is a thread with no particular

Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂

So if anyone out there has something

To say about anything you like now

Is your chance

Keep it clean

And be nice

See how long that lasts

Can we keep politics and religion out

Of the conversation

It took me a couple of tries, and I had to have the clip playing in the background, but it really does go..

A whole swathe of them...

To be honest, I thought Torschlusspanik meant a sense of anxiety or fear caused by the feeling that life's opportunities are passing by and diminishing as one ages, but I guess it's all in the translation...

That's me pretty much done for amusing German words, so I'll sit back and quietly kick myself for not paying more attention, as a child, when Dad would swear in German-Yiddish, ha ha...

My Father in law was Latvian.

As he put it, We were "Liberated" by the Russians, then the Nazis, then the Russians, again...

He knew some "amusing" words and phrases in Russian, no doubt learnt from soldiers... ha ha...

I impressed him immensely by swearing like a Russian, not the full phrase, as it might appear in books, but just the operative word...

"You swear like a Russian", he said, beaming proudly at me...

At that point I knew I'd won him over, ha ha...

No, I won't repeat it, not because it's offensive in itself, but put in context it would violate Community standards... 😉

*Edit.

Sorry, I ran out of time to edit...

What I meant to say that it is, in itself, offensive.
