This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out

That reminds me of when I was 6 or 7.....my Grandmother took me to visit some cousins on a dairy farm.
I sighted a lovely white pony in a far away paddock and insisted I wanted to have a ride. My teenage cousin was dispatched in the blazing heat to bring the pony up for me to ride.....I can still hear him muttering under his breath 65 years later.
He duly arrived back with the pony and I took one look and fled to the safety of the verandah.....it was a 15 hand horse which looked huge to a 6-7 year old. Danny has never let me forget the episode....when I last saw him about 10 years ago he had to bring it up all over again.

The very heavy mother possum was sitting on the table last night, equally broad no matter which side you look at her from... ha ha.
She was more or less facing the window and I could see the large dark area on her belly...
I wasn't sure if a breeze had caught a branch, but I thought I saw a shadow move against her cream fur...
Then it moved again...
At that distance I'm not sure if it was an arm or a leg, but somebody "waved", ha ha.
There's only so much not so little anymore possum that you can fit into a pouch... ha ha.

The sparrows... of whom I counted a good dozen in the bird bath... love that bird bath, ha ha.
Love it to the point of nagging me about getting them another one...
But where would I put it?
It's not just a matter of finding a couple of feet of ground for it to stand on, there's got to be the rails and bridges and perches that surround it to make it really good... ha ha.
This is not simply a case of take it out of the box and attach part A to part B... then, add water... Oh, no... ha ha...
This all stems from the conversation I had with them about plastic mixing bowl sets from the supermarket...
Specifically the nine bowl set...
Ranging from "That's smaller than the cup I use for tea...: through stages of "I suppose it could be useful" to "That's big enough for a bird bath, even if t is too deep...".
(I did end up finding a three bowl set that meets my needs much better, but now i'm taking away from the sparrows, and that's hardly fair.... ha ha).
"Bird Bath!!"...
"Yes, but it's entirely unsuitable due to it''s depth...".
"Bird Bath!!!"... Ha ha...
"It looks like it might rain", said the sparrow...
"Yeah", I said... "The radar's hinting at that...".
"Right", said the sparrow... "I'd better have a bath before it gets too wet...".
There's a logic in that that escapes me, but I know there's a logic in it... ha ha.

Care and feeding... ha ha.
Take a slice of bread and cut it in half...
Take one of the halves and cut it into three pieces, the centre piece has to be about two centimetres across...
Take that piece out to the old man bird, who will be "sleeping", but will suddenly wake up when he sees you with the piece of bread... ha ha.
Hand the piece of bread to him, so he can take it in his beak, with the soft end of the bread facing him...
The small bit of crust at the other end of the bread is for hanging onto... ha ha.
Once the bird has taken the piece of bread, and commenced eating it, you may go about your business...
Your business being bringing all the other food that he might want, outside, so that it's freely available should he want it, ha ha.
Oh yes, while I think, he won't think it's funny if you make "aeroplane" noises while handing him the bread, ha ha.
