This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out

I tried to get a better pic of her tonight but but was a little dark. She had two treats tonight.......sweetcorn
.....and grapes
She has a baby again (this must be about number 6 or 7 I think). It was out on her back when she first came down for dinner but disappeared into the pouch. I'll try to get a photo over the next few days.

A long time ago, there hung at one end of the pergola, a "construction", probably best described as a letter box that became a bird house, of sorts, when I changed my mind half way through making it... ha ha.
One night a little, little possum, having recently left her Mum decided that even though the "construction" was not very roomy, it was better than nothing as far as accommodation went.
So she moved in...
And here's a not very good photo of it, and her peeking out... ha ha...
She stayed on for years... Maybe it was because I built her a better possum house, ha ha...

Converted this to a giff.
This guy was doing a runner from the police.
Runs up the draw bridge.
I call him Willie Makitt.

Guy loses his caravan,
pulls over down the road and waits for it to catch up

I put a piece of bread on the shelf in front of me and Mister Big Bold bird strode up and picked it up...
A little behind him I could see a shy looking bird on the bridge, not quite sure if it should come over...
So I put two pieces of bread on the shelf and said "Here you go, shy bird..."...
The shy bird started to walk down the bridge towards the shelf...
The Big Bold bird, still on the shelf, saw the bread, picked both pieces up and proudly strode off with them... and the piece he'd picked up in the first place, ha ha...
Poor shy bird... He didn't look happy at missing out, ha ha...
At this point I might mention that the poor shy bird who stands on the bridge and looks disappointed is the same not-so-shy bird who walks up to other birds, on the bridges, and tries to take the bread they've just picked up, from them...
Is he the meek little wallflower that he seems? I don't think so... ha ha...

I might have mentioned, at some point in the past, the "safety orange" stub of a carpenter's pencil that become, thankfully briefly, an object of great fascination to one of the cockatoos.
There's a bit of a gap across one of the small arch-bridges and I've been thinking that maybe a bit of plywood could go across it, and make a little shelf...
This'll require the bit of plywood in question, and a pencil to mark where to trim it, and maybe where to drill holes for fastening...
I'll need a pencil for that, ha ha...
I put the plywood over the gap and the pencil down on the bench armrest behind me...
As stealthily silent as a hunting owl, he swooped down, grabbed the pencil and took off to sit on the perch at the other end of the bench, and proudly show off his new prize, ha ha...
So I went and got another pencil...
"But I can still have this one?"...he asked, ha ha...
"Yes, bird, you can have that pencil... I know that it's very special to you...", ha ha...
Now if I could only get him to draw the requisite measuring lines on the plywood... ha ha...

A leaflet has come from the ACT Government heralding the arrival of "10 cents per item" recycling centres.
Glass, bottles, cans, both steel and aluminium...
With a week to run before the school holidays, a young person of my acquaintance asked me how I'd know if a can was made of steel...
I told them that it's a very simple trick - they'll need a fridge magnet... ha ha...
"Mu-u-um!!! I need a fridge magnet!!!"....
I can see that being followed, for at least the rest of the week, by "What are we having for dinner and is it coming out of a steel can?"... ha ha...
I have faith that one day, when this has all blown over, his Mum will speak to me, again, ha ha...
