This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out
Of the conversation

I find myself leaning towards the idea of getting a whipper snipper, simply because I'm not entirely comfortable with the other options that I've thought up.
Crawling round on my hands and knees with a squeezy-squeezy set of hand operated grass shears makes me think of sore knees and blisters.
I don't really need either of those.
Waving some kind of bush knife, or machete might bring on tones of Indiana Jones, but from experience I could get the same result using a large butter knife, and not startle the neighbours in the process.
I could, at a pinch, hire someone to level the grass, but it's hard to find tradesfolk who are open to the offer of "My starting price is nothing". Money, money, money, it's all these people ever think about, ha ha.
So I went to the hardware store and looked at whipper snippers.
Then looked at more whipper snippers.
Then turned round and looked at the whipper snippers on the other side of the aisle.
And then I went over to the cafe and got a drink because that's a lot of whipper snippers to look at, ha ha.
The grass is still standing, and I'm no closer to making a decision, but at least I found the piece of timber that I wanted, so the day wasn't a complete write off, ha ha.
There Really are a Lot of whipper snippers, ha ha.
There's petrol driven and there's mains powered (if you don't mind borrowing every extension cord you can get your hands on) and there's battery powered (some of which come with a battery. How can that be? Don't they know the First Law of Christmas? - Batteries not included.).
So many choices...
Which is why I went to the cafe. The biggest choice you face there is which lurid, fluorescent coloured drink, with a strange name, should you choose from?
Today I feel adventurous, I shall buy a "Toffee candy apple blast surprise".
I wonder if I'll regret buying it what that will taste like...

Tas, I don't know where you get all your pictures from, well, actually I probably do because you've probably told me, but it'll be like all the other "in one ear and out the other" things... ha ha.
They're brilliant, they brighten up the page.
Thank you.

Hey Ed xx
I have a subscription library online where all those particular pictures are, a great animation factory so to speak.
The others are just online stuff, and some I modify into different artwork. Other times, but very rarely, I do some drawings myself with software that I have and then colour them.
I'm colour "challenged" but various shades of certain colours are easier to discern.
Can't wait for the weekend, it's going to be calmer but very productive at the same time ...

I've never made thrice baked biscuits before.
I have an old recipe, a little tattered around the edges, but still quite readable.
I think I can get by with it, after all, when baking ship's biscuits, all you need is a good plan of a tack.

If it's any consolation, I couldn't fake my way through an Ishihara test, if I tried.
Perhaps it's not so much about seeing the world with your eyes, as with your heart.

I started carving a piece, today.
It's good to pick up a block of wood and turn it into something, give it shape and form.
The worst bit is, as usual, keeping all the little wood chips in one place - Don't Sneeze! ha ha.
It's been a while since I've worked on a piece like this, and I keep on remembering "short cuts" - a very shallow saw cut 'there' is going to make life easier with shaping it, or the shallow, curved gouge is your friend if you want to remove bulk amounts of wood.
It feels good to see it come to life.
A few days ago it was an idea, and now it's a shape I can hold, and see the idea in.
There is a deep satisfaction to be found in the act of creating, making something.

I thought I'd start with one, and see how that went, and if I felt up to it I'd make a pair.
Individuals who compliment each other.
Or perhaps Complement, as that might be a better word for it.
Not that I'm not saying that they'd be quite happy sitting side by side and saying "You look lovely, today", "And you look lovely today, too", but they could also be a pair, that by being a pair enhance the finer qualities of the other.
And then I suppose there's always the complement compliment - They make a lovely pair, ha ha.
English can be a very complicated language, sometimes, ha ha.
