About half past five, yesterday, I wandered past the possum house and noticed two things...
Miss "I'm a very big girl possum" was sitting half way out the door, odd, because it wasn't that hot, yesterday... perhaps she was plotting ways to startle the cockatoos, ha ha.
The other, was the bees...
Not more than maybe a dozen of them, lazily hanging around the entrance to the possum house...
They didn't seem to be bothering her, and she didn't seem bothered by them...
I had a quick look on the internet, and the advice, in a nutshell, was leave them alone and they'll ignore you...
So I did, and they did, ha ha.
I'm waiting til later in the day to see if they'll come back, perhaps in greater numbers...
Apparently, should that be, or indeed bee, ha ha, the case, there are bee keepers I can call to come and remove them...
That could lead to an interesting conversation...
"There's the bees, on, and possibly in, the possum house... I don't know if the possum is in residence or not, but I would definitely recommend wearing gloves...", ha ha.
Hopefully the circumstances that might lead to that conversation will not arise... fingers crossed... ha ha.
I'll see how it goes... at the moment the few bees I could find out in the garden were busying themselves with the current crop of flowering plants...
The lavender's in bloom, and the basil and the rosemary are yet to burst forth, but they seem to be finding flowers to amuse themselves, none the less...
All I can think is someone out there is going to have interestingly flavoured honey for their toast, ha ha.
