This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out
Of the conversation

True, there's no point in making extra work for myself.
But I probably will, anyway.

She's a girl, and in between babies. Had one in the Summer, had one in the Winter, she's worked out what's best for her.
She's spending today (36 degrees, windy) in the house that's shaded and has an enormous doorway; perfect for sprawling in, in comfort.
One of these days I'm going to work out how much light they'll tolerate, during the day, while they're sleeping. The thought being that I could build a possum house whose walls are, essentially, fly screen. Probably double layered, to make it darker. Then of course there's insulating and ventilating the roof... Maybe a solar powered fan, for air circulation...?
And the idea starts to get out of control...
I don't need a hobby, I've got a hobby; having, and then talking myself out of the outrageous "improving the possum's comfort" ideas I have.

Old photo, but it'll do. It's taken from ground level, and as you can see, possum privacy came first, and the opportunity for possum being cute photos came a poor second.
By the time I drag a box around there, and get up on it, teetering precariously with camera in hand....
And the entranceway isn't designed for photography; it's an entranceway.
It all becomes a little too much trouble...
Curse my thinking of the possum, first, and not making generous allowances for taking happy snaps.
Somewhere in that darkness, a spoilt, happy little girl is passing the day.
Around about twenty to eight this evening she'll emerge, and head over the bridge to where her breakfast awaits.
She's not spoilt, she's loved.

Three backpackers, a farmer and a horse.
The terrible toll of the bushfires.
They are remembered because they died doing what they believed was right.

Bark eating koalas, just when you thought you'd seen it all.
A small population of bark-eating koalas in forests between Canberra and Cooma have caught the attention of wildlife researchers with their unusual eating habits, after they developed a taste for more than gum leaves.

The next time something heavy goes thump on the roof, during the night, you'll be left wondering not only what it is, but whether it's going to chew your gum trees...

A hammer with a magnifying lens.
Yes, I had to resist the urge to say "Now I've seen it all", too.
