And if ppl are howling and teeth-gnashing now about the cuts (which are designed to help us back into solvency) , how are they going to go when there's...nothing.
Like in the depression?
Didn't you read the article you posted part of the other day by Greg Jericho? He did attempt to explain somewhat that the debt is just something that sits there and grows accumulating interest day by day. It's money moved and interest generated via long term bonds and overnight trades and it's how economies operate.
Here's another that talks about it. Note it's from the Australian :D:D

And we are not insolvent.

We are a welfare nation and it DID have to be fixed.
Does the budget affect me and my family, no. I'd say it will down the road later, with the cost of living going up, but in reality that goes up all the time.
we are not a welfare nation, that's ludicrous.
I'm sorry I feel we are, lots of families dont actually pay tax because of the welfare they are getting.
we all pay tax, on welfare or not. It is called GST

So?
There are a lot of Australians NOT paying taxes that they should be paying.
So it all evens out in the end doesn't it?

I totally understand peoples mindset saying, well if they are giving it away! I didn't want or need it as it wasn't in the plan for me having the kids.
They were here because I could afford them and I wasn't going to have anymore after them cause life changed and 2 was enough.
NEVER relied on welfare, not the family a or b.
