We are a welfare nation and it DID have to be fixed.
Does the budget affect me and my family, no. I'd say it will down the road later, with the cost of living going up, but in reality that goes up all the time.
we are not a welfare nation, that's ludicrous.

I felt for the housing staff too. They had not even been contacted. The woman was in hospital in a fragile state when the story was aired about her being a slack tenant. The housing staff were rather upset that she was confronted with that on top of everything else. I think the contractors got thrown off the public housing contract.

Point being we can't continue going down the path of borrowing more and more money to cover our national debt. Ultimately, debt has to be repaid and if it can't be, there's insolvency and bankruptcy.
And if ppl are howling and teeth-gnashing now about the cuts (which are designed to help us back into solvency) , how are they going to go when there's...nothing.
Like in the depression?

New narrative needed, can't defend the indefensible, try a different angle, maybe they have a new pamphlet.

I'm sorry I feel we are, lots of families dont actually pay tax because of the welfare they are getting.
