Ive done a course and loved every second of it. Thinking of doing a cert 4 in photo imaging next if it can be worked around my job.
I was just wondering after looking at everyones photos.
Maybe if people have hints and tips on taking that scary step into manual settings? Help each other out a bit?
I started by taking shots and recording the settings I used so I learned what not to do and you tube...lots of youtube. This was when I forst got my camera

I must confess I took my bee pictures (wild things thread) using the auto function.
I haven't really explored using the manual settings yet. I know I should try it some time.

my daughter did photography at school last yr. she used a Canon DSLR, liked it so she got one for Christmas. I will ask her to give me a crash course when she gets back from her trip later this week.

Yes I do sometimes, I get tips from my brother and son. I wish I had more time to really explore my camera.

Yes, I use the manual settings but not to it's full capacity, no time

If you are not going to use the potential of a DSLR get yourself a good '"point and shoot" camera and save a heap of dollars.
For those who want to explore the potential of a DSLR, a whole new vista will be revealed to you once you take the camera off Auto ๐
